How much Time we Waste doing Rest
After the daily hectic schedule, we often sit back in front of TV or lie down on the bed and do rest. This is how we spent hours without doing something productive. It is all right to do rest and relax for a while but the question is how much.
Sometimes we become lazy and waste a lot of our time doing nothing. As Bruce Lee said, “If you love life, don’t waste time, for time is what life is made up of.”
Do we really need rest?
I mean it is not like 20 or 50 years ago, where most of the routine work includes the physical effort. In the past most of the people spent whole day doing a lot of work by their body instead of machines.
Do you spend you physical energy all day long? If yes, you should seek physical rest. If you sit all day long in a comfortable chair doing your paper/computer work, your body is already in physical comfort.
Today most of us sit in front of the computer or automated machine and use our mind power rather than physical power. We are not physically very active. Then what is the purpose of your rest: to give rest to mind right? You already have a big window as a sleep time for that. Therefore, use your after office/work hours to do something productive for you.

Why not to spent your holiday doing rest:
While I am talking about rest, I meant to be sitting or lie down idle at home or watching TV/News all the time. There is nothing wrong if you take a trip around the country or get out for some entertainment.
However, if you are at home during your holidays, grab the opportunity to use that time. The moment that we are passing will never come back. Do something worthwhile for your life.

We should seize each day. So either we should be enjoying our life or making our life better.
Why Politicians/Actors/Businessman does not rest?
You know that they do more work than you do. They deserve more rest than you do. Of course, they have more comfort in life. Still, most of them do not even sleep 7 hours a day.
What keep them going: they like what they do. They are following their dreams. They work day and night to get best in whatever they do. If you hold the same passion for your dreams and life, you will never prefer to rest while you have something important to do. Be passionate.
Why, we feel tired all the time?
There are many reasons. For example, often we compromise our career in terms of money rather than interest.
We often see a career where there is financial growth. Then we work all day even if we do not like it. As you are not enjoying doing it, you will feel bore and force your mind to do work that even you do not like.
When we do things that we do not like, we tend to lazy on it. You will say that your mind is not working. You feel tired soon and then ask for rest.
Tell me one thing. If you are playing an indoor game with your friend all day long, will you feel tired? No. You would like to play one more round. Because your find it interesting. Make your work and life interesting and you will never need to take rest.
It is all right to take rest but how much?
For once, let us suppose that you have done a lot of accounting/paper/office work. You feel like your mind is getting heavy and you need rest. Now tell me how much rest will fill you with energy that you feel refreshed again.
Is one-hour works? Often we see that once we get together with bed, we do not want to get up. We want to sit or lie down half more hour. No matter how much we rest, we want to do more. Why? Because this rest never works. You are trying to give rest to your mind but it is getting worrying about past happenings or upcoming challenges.
For a mind, a 5-minute sitting in silence is enough to relax if done properly. However, we are often overwhelmed with negative thoughts today that it never keeps calm. One of the best ways to relax your mind is Meditation.
Where are you going in Life?
We often spent years to take education and degrees, but never spent time to study our life. How much time you spare to think about yourself? How much you are aware of the direction of your life. Is it going in right way?

If you feel that you are following your life goals and dreams, laziness and tiredness will not find any place in your life. However, if you are stuck somewhere in your personal life, career or relationships, you will always feel like you are missing something in life.
What to do instead of doing Rest:
It is all right to find time for entertainment. What is the use of living if you are not enjoying your life? However, never ever waste your time doing nothing. At the end of the life, will you remember your time of rest or extra sleep?
There should be no regret in future about doing nothing in the past. Spend your rest time working on yourself, your relationship, your career and your dreams. If you take one positive step in any area of your life, believe me you will not feel the need of having rest. Therefore, Do not Rest, Do your Best.

How we waste our time:
Let us suppose you have 2-3 hours time after office. You will spend some time watching TV/Movies/Entertainment. Some of that time, you will talk to your friends on social sites or gossip with your mates/family members. Now it is half an hour left for dinner. You will think that this should be time for rest.
Now tell me, what was that gossip or entertainment? Your entertainment has already relaxed your mind and you do not need rest anymore.
If you still want, sit in the silence for 5 minutes or talk positively to yourself. Then get up and use that left half hour to direct your life. See how your life going on and which life needs your effort to be best.

As I already said, if you take even one tiny (extra) positive step, you will feel hopeful and joyful. Your will find yourself full of energy and enlightened.
Convert your Rest into Achievement:
For example, if you have striving for a better career life. Do little everyday to sharp your skill. Over the time, you will be ready to make a career move. If you are having difficulties in relationships, work on it.

If you think that, any of your habit is disturbing you from getting success. Why do not you work on it? It may take little effort initially, but once you identify the difference in your life, you will be very happy. It will help you in other areas of your life as well.
Often we underestimate the power of ourselves to deal with these life challenges. Because we do not take any step.
If you think that life gives you extra time for these things, you are making fool of yourself. You have to use your time. You have to find your time. Make your everyday countable.
Nobody is perfect. It is all right learning from others who are good in those areas. Explore books, people and other sources where you can learn. Keep improving yourself, life will be beautiful.
